This cathedral was built in 1885, and replaced the former St James Old Cathedral. It was built in a Gothic transitional style, designed by English architect William Butterfield. However, William Butterfield resigned from the project, and Joseph Reed over saw the construction and completion of the St Paul Cathedral. The cathedral was built from sandstone, unusual from the majority of the buildings in the area, as the common building material was bluestone. An English imported organ is located within the cathedral, and is reputed as one of the finest surviving pieces produced by T.C. Lewis: One of the greatest organ producers of the nineteenth century. Upon visiting the cathedral, visual interests include The Pentacles (or Five Pointed Star), The beautiful Persian Tile located near the ceremonial doors, and of course the cathedral’s gift shop. The St Paul Cathedral demonstrates beautiful architecture and many other treats for the eyes to behold.

It is located by Victoria, Australia and stretches from Cape Otway To Moonlight Head. That is about 130km of distance along the coast.

Shipwreck coast is know for its rough waters, lack of lighthouses and thick fogs. Many ships have fallen victim to these inhospitable waters. Perhaps the most famous ship claimed in these rough parts is the Victoria shipwreck Loch Ard. There is a gorge that is named after the ship, it’s called Loch Ard Gorge.

The first recorded ship lost in the area was in the 1500′s and was named Mahogany Ship. After that it was 300 plus years before these waters claimed another ship. An unnamed whale boat went down in these waters in 1836 and started the recent string of shipwrecks.

Even though there are a lot of shipwrecks located by Victoria, Australia, there hasn’t been a great loss of lives tied to them. Looking at the top ten shipwrecks in the area and the loss of life is around 221. There are times 100 people or more can be lost in one single wreck.

Victoria is geographically the smalles of the mainland states. But, in spite of its small size , and because if its coastal location, and its mountain range located in the center of the state, it has extreme temperature variation.

The Mallee and upper Wimmera, located in the semi-arid northwestern part of the state is Victoria’s warmest region. Nearby desert winds cause temperatures to average 86 degrees F in the summer and 59 degrees F in the winter months. Unlike other parts of the state, the northwest gets very little rainfall, averaging only 10″ annually.

The mountainous northeastern region of Victoria is the wettest with average rainfall of 71″. Temperatures are cooler with averages ranging from 48 degrees F to 32 degrees F in the higher altitude areas. Due to its colder temperatures this area of Victoria is the only one to have snowfall.

The coastal plain area of Victoria has the mildest climate in the state. Warm air from the southern ocean keeps both summer and winter temperatures mild. The western coastal plains experience the most reliable rainfall with more frequent rainstorms in winter, but more precipitation in the summer.

Sitting astride the borders of Zimbabwe and Zambia in southern Africa, it is rated as one of the Seven Natural Wonder of the world. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1989, Victoria Falls is arguably the largest waterfall in the world.

Victoria Falls is part of a network of ever retreating gorges and falls that has been formed as the Zambezi River has etched a path through softer sandstone that is a part of the predominant basalt in the Makgadikgadi Pan. David Livingstone (of “Dr. Livingstone I presume.” fame) is credited with being the first European to visit the falls in 1856.

In recent years the falls have become an adventure vacation destination. Spectacular views of Victoria Falls are available from multiple locations in both Zimbabwe and Zambia although continued political unrest in the area could make travel there problematic. Still, to have the opportunity to peer over the edge of the falls from the Devil’s Pool would be an experience of a lifetime.

Victoria Falls easily earns a place as one of the Seven Natural Wonders. With its remote location, one might hope that it will maintain this wonder without undue exploitation.

An umbrella for photography is used to direct light to a subject. Umbrellas are commonly used for portraits and product photography. They act to soften the harsh light from a flash or light to give a soft, pretty glow to the subject.

Photography umbrellas are a cost effective way to control light for a photo shoot. While it’s possible to bounce light off a ceiling and light an entire room, they are meant more for portraits or close up shots. Umbrellas allow the photographer to direct the light to best flatter the subject. They also soften the light to reduce harsh highlights and shadows.

Umbrellas for photography come in two colors: silver or white. The white can be used to shoot through, but the silver is only used to bounce light. Silver umbrellas can reflect more light than a white umbrella can. The white does give a softer light, but the same effect can be achieved by moving the silver umbrella further away from the subject. Which color you choose is a personal preference, just remember the white will not reflect as much light as silver and you may need to compensate for this when shooting.

Umbrellas also come in translucent or reflective. The translucent material will let you shoot through it like a filter. Most people do not use umbrellas like this, so this is not an advantage for most photographers. The reflective material is more efficient at bouncing light back to the subject. If the light is too harsh, the umbrella can be moved back or adjusted to soften the light.

Photography umbrellas give the photographer more control of the light without using an expensive softbox. They soften the light to give a portrait a warm feel rather than a harsh, cold feeling. Silver reflective umbrellas are more effective at bouncing light than a translucent white umbrella. White umbrellas can also be used to shoot through like a filter. However, silver umbrellas are more effective and can be adjusted to give a softer light.

Whenever the word photography is mentioned, the first thing to come up in most people’s minds is dark rooms, chemicals and an old fashioned analogue camera. Photography is still done in this way, but if you would like to move on to something completely different, it is time to consider digital photography. The simple explanation behind digital photography is that instead of using film, it uses digital technology to keep an image. The technology is similar to what is used in other electronic items such as music recorders, memory storage for computers etc.

The ultimate benefit of digital photography over analogue photography is control. The photographer has complete control regarding which pictures to take and keep. He or she is only limited by the amount of space available in the digital memory. After the picture is taken you will be able to instantly see the results on the camera interface. If you do not like the picture then no problem, it can be erased and another one can be taken. The next benefit is that there is no film to develop. Once the picture is taken, it can be down loaded onto a computer to turn into pictures. Not only that, the pictures can be saved in a file and can be photo shopped at a later date. In other words, as long as you have access to file the pictures can be kept for later use. No more worrying about negatives. This brings us to film. With digital cameras there is no film to deal with. This saves on cost as well as time.

With the arrival of the internet there are many people who are doing work from home. The internet has opened up many avenues for those of who would like to run a business from home. One such work is photography. It is possible to have a business by taking pictures and selling them. It need not only be an online related business. It can be sold directly to people who show an interest in your work. It is just that online business opportunities have broadened the horizon for this line of work. The bottom line is that it is possible to make good money by doing photography.

Unless you are a well known highly skilled professional photographer, one of the most lucrative ways to make money in photography, especially for beginners, is by going into micro stock photography and small stock photos. This involves using websites where you can upload your photos and clients will purchase them for a fee. How much they pay will depend entirely up to you. There are several websites that specializes in this sort of business. These websites have helped a lot of photographers, both professional as well as amateurs, earn a steady income with their photos.

Another source of income involves real estate photography. This is perhaps a little known field as far photography is concerned. As the name implies, it involves taking pictures of houses and property. The way to go about it is to strike a deal with a real estate agent. Some will work with multiple real estate agents and run a very lucrative business.
